Frequently Asked Questions

Where is my local market?

The physical location where you have inventory. This is the location where my direct competitors do business.

What is a pickup and the pickup report?

A pickup is a recently booked new reservation. The pickup report is great for analysis of efficacy of your recent marketing or pricing adjustments, as well as monitoring pickup activity to make additional changes to pricing to capitalise on trends that you might not otherwise have data to see.

Why does LSI have filters?

Each page has a filter at the top so that you can narrow down and segment the units so that you can compare apples to apples with comparable units in the market.

What is a market?

Your units are placed into predetermined markets. To see those markets, you can look at the Market Profile under settings. The markets are represented by a tab strip along the top of the page, right below the filters

What are the boxes on the front page?
Metric Comparison Box - These boxes will usually list out the statistic, overall comparative performance, and graphic or coloured image representing the cumulative values, and a graph to show the daily comparison of the stats for the range you filtered.
- Your metric value will be blue, and the local market metric will be yellow.

- The number in the cumulative box represents the cumulative average for all the nights in that range. So, while you could potentially be ahead of the market on most nights, it is still possible to be behind the market if you had a small range of low performing nights.

What is paid occupancy?

Percentage of total nights where money was paid. Paid Occupancy is the measurement of bookings where rent is charged (Paid Booking), which are typically guest or owner guest reservations. Calculation: Paid Occupancy = Paid Booking Nights ÷ Total Nights in the given period.

What is availability?

Percentage of nights that are still available for booking. Availability is the percentage of the nights available. This includes any night that does not have a booking reserved during the period. Calculation: Availability = Total Units - Booked Nights ÷ Total Units.

What is the pickup date?

This is the base date to be used for the pickup report. By default, this should be todays today so that you can look at recent pickups, but you can set this to previous dates to see the reservation pickup you had for a range on that date.

What is the pickup range?

This is the number of days to look back for new reservations.

What is a group?

This is a list of like units that you have grouped together so that you can compare by filtering the group in the different reports.

What is the Filter|DateRange?

This represents the ranges of nights to be filtered for the stats on the current page.

What is Off Market?

Percentage of Paid nights that were blocked off, but no money was paid. i.e., Unpaid nights.
