How does the guest experience the booking cart?

Updated on

This is a walk-through to show you what a guest would see while booking directly on your website.

1) The guest is choosing the property and then dates.

2) The guest is showing the duration of their stay and also the number of adults, children and infants.
A price will be showing now.
The guest needs to click the Book Now button to carry on. They are not automatically forwarded.

3) The next step is for the guest to see, if they want to add any booking extras you offer or add a voucher code.
If they are happy with their selection, the guest needs to click Continue.

4) The next step is for the guest to enter their details.
Any custom form fields you have created will be showing on this page.

Please note:
The guest must tick the box to accept your T&Cs and Cancellation policies.
This means, if they are booking with you and later on say, they didn't consent to the T&Cs, you can point out that the acceptance of them is mandatory and they wouldn't have been able to book, if they hadn't ticked this box.
If they actually took the trouble to read the T&Cs, is of no consequence.

Should you offer booking protection via XCover, the guest will be able to select it in this step as well.

Depending on the payment method chosen, the guest either sees the option to enter their card detail or, if you offer e.g. bank transfer, see a summary of the booking.
