New payment pages

Updated on

We don't store, see or process any card data in SuperControl. Everything is done by our trusted and certified third parties.

What's changed?

  • We have upgraded our new payment pages to meet all the new PCI regulations and requirements, including 3D secure version 2 (3DSV2). 3DSV2 is the new authentication protocol for online card payments. It is designed to improve upon 3D Secure version 1 delivering a much smoother and more integrated user experience.
  • These payment pages have been implemented in a new and secure technology that is compatible with mobile devices including IOS.
  • We have also completely modernized the design and added new features to help you run your business more effectively, giving you more control in a super suitable, super simple way.

If you use one of the 3 payment processors that we integrate with then your guest's paying by card will use these new payment pages when:

  • Opening the payment form link when you send them a payment reminder e-mail or SMS.
  • Paying a balance in the guest login portal.

Very soon we will be upgrading the front end booking process, this means the new payment pages will also be part of this. So when your guest is making the initial booking on your website, they will be directed to the new payment pages.

Yapstone (HolidayRentPayment)

To see a demo of the new payment pages using the Yapstone payment processor please watch our short video below.

3D Secure version 2 has been fully implemented on our new payment pages. You are likely to see an increase in card payment failures if a guest paying is using a non 3D Secure card.

The video below does not show the additional step that is required for 3D Secure, for an idea of what this means/looks like essentially an additional step is now added for the guest when submitting a payment through the payment form if using a 3D secure card. They simply have to verify the payment with their bank by either entering a password or approving a request within their telephone or online banking app, or entering a code they receive via text message.

Opayo (SagePay)

3D Secure version 2 has been fully implemented on our new payment pages. You are likely to see an increase in card payment failures if a guest paying is using a non 3D Secure card.

Trust Payments (Secure Trading)

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If using Trust payments with our new payment pages, your Trust Payments dashboard will have a new site ID added. This is due to us upgrading to 3D Secure, for Trust Payments to support this in our system any payments taken through the new payment pages will be processed under the new Site ID. By default in your Trust Payments accounts, only the Site ID for the old payment pages will be selected  so you should log into your account and select the new site ID as well as the previous one so ALL transactions are shown listed.

If you are using the Trust Payments processor then our new payment pages will now support 3D secure cards. Previously our old pages didn't support 3D secure so this is a great improvement.

To see a demo of the new payment pages and the additional 3D secure step using Trust Payments then please watch our short video below.

3D Secure version 2 has been fully implemented on our new payment pages. You are likely to see an increase in card payment failures if a guest paying is using a non 3D Secure card.

We now advise you to add your cancellation policy to the payment form

It is not compulsory but we advise that you add a shortened, simple to read version of your cancellation and refunds policy to the new field we have added in Admin> Terms and Conditions:

This really does make a difference in the event of cancellation disputes and chargeback's. Populating this field will show the guest your cancellation and refund terms before they opt in to paying for the booking. We will also then show this policy again in the receipt of payment that is sent to the guest once paid. In the event of a chargeback or chargeback dispute, you are in a much better position in making sure you get back the funds owed to you if you can easily prove that your guest had to accept and could clearly see your cancellation and refund terms before paying and again after they paid.

New full payment feature!

We have added a new feature to our payment pages so if you choose to allow it, you can give your guest's the choice  to pay the full balance upfront, even if at the time, only a deposit is due. To enable this option please contact [email protected].

Once the setting has been enabled for you by our support team, you will see a new setting in Properties>Edit>Settings> Booking details.

This setting is a per property setting and once it has been enabled for you it will still be defaulted to No. You must change this setting to Yes, your guests will then see a full payment option on the payment form:

This will give them the choice to pay either just the amount due now or pay the full amount upfront.

Another reminder that this setting won't apply to the booking process when a guest is booking from the website until we launch our new booking cart development in early 2021. It will only apply when you send your guest's the payment form link or when they make a payment in the guest login.

New custom payment feature!

We have added a new feature to our payment pages so if you choose to allow it, you can give your guest's the choice to pay a custom amount. They simply enter their chosen amount, this can be any amount, even if its less than the total due now.

This is a per booking setting, to enable it go to any booking and tick to Enable Custom payment.

Then click the save button below:

This is then how it shows to the guest:

This setting won't apply to guests making a new booking through your website from the calendar. As this option can only be ticked manually once the booking is made. It is for scenarios where you may want to allow custom payments for a particular booking.

For example, a booking made well in advance or for a large party you may want to allow custom payments just for that particular booking. It will allow the guests to pay in their own installments to break down the cost over time.
