We’ve been busy updating the Housekeeper Login feature based on your feedback. Here’s what’s new and what’s coming:
Owner Booking Flags Added
Housekeepers can now see if a booking is for an owner or a guest. This update, requested by agencies with different housekeeping processes for these booking types, helps simplify operations.
"Housekeeper Not Required" Setting
This setting is now visible in the main Housekeeper report. Previously only available in PDFs, it prevents unnecessary housekeeping visits to owner bookings, improving communication and saving time.
Show/Hide Settings Bug Fixes
We resolved issues with the “Show/Hide” options in the Housekeeper login, ensuring all settings work as intended. Users can now hide options irrelevant to their needs, supporting report customisation.
Enhanced Sorting Functionality (Coming Soon)
Bookings will soon be sortable by arrival date without being grouped by property. This change makes it easier for housekeepers to view bookings efficiently, especially when managing multiple properties.
The static highlighted dates feature is now live! You can mark important events, such as school holidays, directly on the grid view for easy reference.
This update adds to the existing updates, including the new 'Small' cell height option for viewing more properties at once and bolded guest last names for improved visibility. Don’t forget, the slide-out panel when clicking on a booking also provides essential details at a glance.
We’re pleased to announce our Arrivals and Departures Dashboard Project, launching in Q1! This initiative is based on valuable feedback and focuses on simplifying access to booking information for daily arrivals and departures. Here’s what to expect:
Project Highlights:
- Phase 1: Easy-to-access icons for arrivals and departures will display daily totals (e.g., “Arrivals today: 7”). Clicking these icons will take you directly to the detailed report for quick and efficient task management. This feature will be available on both desktop and mobile for seamless use.
- Phase 2: Upgrades to the Arrivals and Departures report will enhance its design, making it more intuitive, visually consistent with our UI updates, and easier to read. Additional minor features will also be introduced.
While our data collection tool is live and helping many of you gather the required owner information, the launch of the reporting tool has been delayed.
Parts of the project rely on HMRC’s systems, which has impacted the timeline. We’re currently awaiting the completion of their testing process and further guidance on how you can register as a digital platform ahead of the January deadline. We understand this is frustrating, and we’re doing everything we can to move things forward.
In the meantime, if you haven’t yet completed gathering your owner data, you can find helpful resources in our Help Centre. Preparing this data now will make things easier when the reporting tool becomes available.
We understand the challenges that local authority licensing in Scotland has introduced, especially with platforms like Airbnb, Booking.com, and Vrbo now requiring licence numbers for listings.
To simplify this process, we’ve developed a Compliance API. This new tool allows you to enter your licence number directly in SuperControl, which will then automatically sync across your connected listings. This saves you time and minimises the need for manual updates, keeping your listings compliant with ease. As compliance regulations evolve in other locations, such as England, this feature will be ready to support you when the time comes. Learn more here.
We’ve been updating our API with Airbnb, completing essential annual updates to our connection with this channel. While most of this work was behind the scenes, here’s a summary of the changes and upcoming updates:
Recent Maintenance Updates
Airbnb has removed two booking settings, which we’ve now updated in the Airbnb data page. All guests booking via Airbnb are now required to verify their ID. If you previously had these settings selected, they’ve been auto-mapped to the appropriate corresponding setting to reflect Airbnb’s changes.
Upcoming Changes in 2025
Changes for Rates-Availability Only Connections
Airbnb is deprecating certain booking settings that were previously managed on their platform. In the future, these settings will need to be managed directly from SuperControl, giving you centralised control over your content.
We’ve implemented several updates to enhance the functionality and reliability of XCover integration in SuperControl. Here’s what’s new:
1. XCover Quote Updates for Moved Bookings
When bookings are moved to new dates via the Grid View, XCover quotes will now automatically adjust to reflect the updated booking details.
2. XCover Quote Availability Rules
Previously, XCover quotes were sometimes available after the guest's arrival if the balance wasn’t paid, as the API relied solely on the departure date. To address this, we’ve implemented a rule that discards quotes or disables coverage 48 hours before arrival, ensuring accurate and appropriate quote availability.
3. XCover Channel Booking Email Address Fix
For channel bookings (e.g., Booking.com), we previously sent the autogenerated guest email address (e.g., *@guest.booking.com) to XCover, causing issues for guests trying to activate their XCover account. Now, we’ve updated this to send the email address from the payment/booking form instead, making it easier for guests to link to their XCover account.
We’ve rolled out several updates and fixes to improve the accounting and operational functionality for agencies. Here’s what’s been addressed:
1. Owner Payments and Commission Statement Mismatch
A mismatch issue between the Owner Payments tab in a booking and the Owner Commission Statement report has been resolved, ensuring consistency in your financial records.
2. Duplicate Owner Payments Fixed
A bug where double-clicking the save button created duplicate owner payments in the agency statement has been fixed. This prevents duplication errors and ensures cleaner accounting.
3. Scheduled Expenses for Owner Bookings
Scheduled expenses have been a useful feature in our system, but they weren’t previously applied to bookings added by owners via the Owner Login. This has now been corrected, making it easier for agencies to manage expenses across all booking types and improving operational efficiency.
We’ve updated the formatting for the cancellation policy input field in Admin > Terms and Conditions. Previously, spaces and formatting weren't applied in the cart view. Now, any formatting you apply—like spaces or line breaks—will appear as intended, ensuring your cancellation policies look exactly as you set them.
To align with updated security standards, the Loqate postcode look-up tool integrated with SuperControl now supports HTTPS and TLS 1.2 protocols. This ensures your data is encrypted with the most up-to-date protocols. No action is required on your part.
Holidu has increased its commission rate from 12% to 15%. We’ve updated the auto-agent in SuperControl to reflect this change, so commissions itemised for Holidu bookings are now accurate without any action needed from you.
We’ve significantly improved the load speed for individual property pages on Upfront Reviews. These pages, which often link directly from your websites, now load in an average of 1.5 seconds—a massive improvement from the previous 45+ seconds.
The third-party Highcharts tool used for report downloads has been updated to resolve issues with certain exports, such as the postcode map report. You can now download these reports without any interruptions.
