Customising the grid view

Updated on

There are several different option to change the display and behaviour of the grid view.
To access them, click the cog shaped icon in the top right hand corner.

This will open a pop-up.

If it doesn't appear, please make sure that your browser allows the display of pop-ups.

Loading options

1. Load by default

You can select to either have the properties load and display when the page is loading or the properties are only shown once the dates and other filters / search criteria have been selected.

This can be a handy option when you have a lot, e.g.more than 20 properties, but want to keep the loading time down.

2. Load by property group

It is possible to load only specific properties groups as a default.
This can be handy when a specific group of properties is used more than others.
Select the property group from the drop down menu. All property groups that have been created in Properties > Property groups will show in this drop down menu.

3. Load by property type

It is also possible to set the property type that is being loaded by default.
All property types need to have been created via Properties > Property type.
Select the relevant group from the drop down menu.

4. Default date range

This is the date range, which is applied for the default view when no other date settings have been applied.
It is showing to the right of the date range selection options.

You can select multiples of 3 months from the drop down menu.

5. Default start date

The default start date is the date from which the calendar in the grid view starts. It's the most left hand date.
The default is set to today, meaning only future dates are showing in the grid view.
If you require to have an eye on previous weeks, you can set the default start date up to 6 weeks in the past.
To do that, select the number of weeks in the drop down menu.

6. Cell width and Cell height

These options allow the size of the cells symbolising the individual days in the grid to be resized.
The the options are only Medium or Large for the cell width and Small or Large for the cell height.

Examples

7. Date lines

If you have a large number of properties, having the column with the dates at the top and bottom of the list of properties might not be enough.
With this setting you can add further date lines after so many properties.

When the option has been selected to be used by ticking the box, the number of properties can be set to any number bigger than 10.
After 10(+) properties a date row will be inserted.

Example:
- there are 11 properties in the account
- after 10 properties a new date line should be shown

Please note:
Depending on the maximum number to be shown on each page the result you see in the grid view might not what you expected or require.

Less than 10 properties showing per page

As there are not enough properties selecting per page to trigger the date line repeat, only the default dates lines at the top and bottom are sowing.

10 properties showing per page

10 properties are being shown, as well as the date lines at the top and the bottom.
There is also an additional date line at the bottom. This line is not really necessary, but is due to the system being set to show a date line at the bottom and after the 10 property.

Grid colours

You can change the colours the bookings are displaying in according to your requirements.
There are two way to change / define a colour.

1. Hex(adecimal) colour codes

These codes are used for defining colours on/for websites. They are always starting with # and as they are expressed using the hexadecimal number system.

The decimal number system used worldwide is based on 10. The hexadecimal number system is based on the number 16. This means that the numbers 1 - 9 as well as the characters A - F are being used to write the numbers.

Example:

Hexadecimal system Decimal system
#1133ff 1127423
2. Colour picker

Clicking into the colour field on the right hand side opens a small pop-up, allowing you to select a colour directly.
Move the small dot and see what colour would be applied in the long bar at the bottom of the pop-up.

Display options

1. Display booking info

If set to Yes, the guest name or other information about the booking is being displayed.

If set to No, the bookings are just blocks of colour without any further information showing.

2. Number of properties per page

If you have a large number of properties, you can reduce the number of properties showing on each page of the grid view.
The default is set to 25.

Please note:
If you have more properties than can be displayed initially, you will see these numbers underneath the grid view indicated which page you are on at the moment.

3. Auto-fit property names

This options allows you to display property names in full that are rather long without them being truncated.

Without this option checked the name will be truncated (shortened) to 2 lines. Any remainder of the property name will be cut off.

4. Export all properties

There is the option to print and/or download the data from the grid view.
To do this click the download button and then select one the these three icons.

When the option to download all properties has not been selected, only the properties showing on the initial page will be exported.
If you have more properties, displaying on multiple pages, it might be an idea to have this options turned on, as you otherwise might miss information you require.

5. Display options for all users

Use grid version

There are only two option for the Use grid version.

For most users the Modern Grid will be the correct selection.
For any mac user, they should try the Mac Compatible Grid.
If the gird view seem to look truncated and cut off, try changing the setting and see, if that improves the visibility of the grid.
