Booking extras are optional extras that can be charged to the customer, such as bed linen, dogs, or a hamper. These extras can be set up with an optional charge or you can set booking options up with no fee associated. Booking extras gives the guest the opportunity to purchase added extras to make their stay more enjoyable, and it gives you the chance to upsell by adding goods and services to a booking.
Adding Booking extras is a two-stage process- first, you add the extra itself, and then you specify the price and quantity available for each individual property.
- To create a booking extra, go to Properties > Booking extras. Type the name for booking extra into the box provided.
- Click Next.
The Booking extras summary screen shows the following options to fill in.
Give the booking extra a distinct name, one that makes it clear what the extra is, e,g. Dog Fee.
If you want to archive a booking extra, e.g. as it is no longer required, you can set this value to No (archive).
Please note:
When a booking extra is being archived, it is being removed from all properties.
It is not possible to use this option to selectively removed the extra from specific properties.
This is the order in which you want the extras to show in your booking form.
If VAT applies to the extra, add it here.
If the housekeeper needs to be aware of the extra, tick this box. This would be applicable for e.g. a guest requiring a cot.
Fees for e.g. a booking fee should not have this option ticked, as it is not relevant for the housekeeper.
(AGENCY only)
If you set this to Yes the extra will show on the owner's booking summary.
This could be applicable for e.g. dog fees.

The booking extra can also be included in the price. This means there is no additional charge for it.

It is also possible to allow guests to add an extra only up to x numbers prior to arrival, e.g. if you offer a food hamper, you might require a few days notice to arrange it. Removing the extra will provide you with the time required.
The last option is to allow the guest to select the extra only during the booking process.

This can be used e.g. for adding an extra fuel supplement or schedule additional cleaning.
