Booking Cart Information Hub

Updated on

SuperControl’s booking cart is an integral part of the website integration that we offer to you. It’s the final stage in the checkout process and is where your potential guest chooses to hit ‘book now’ before inserting their payment information. SuperControl has updated its booking cart integration to offer your website visitors a more seamless and brand-centric user journey. In this help centre hub, we explore the booking cart, the benefits of the new cart, and how you can implement this on your website. Please click here for more information about SuperControl’s website integration.

What is a booking cart?

A booking cart is the web page your potential guest is taken to when finalising their booking. It summarises their selected dates and rates and is the final step in completing the booking process. This is fundamental to direct booking success, and SuperControl is pleased to share a new and improved version of its booking cart that offers a much slicker checkout process for your guest.

What’s changed?

SuperControl’s new booking cart has a modern design aligned to your branding, is optimised for mobile and is contained within a pop-up. The booking cart will now be hosted on your own website rather than SuperControl pages, providing you with more control and customisation.

What are the benefits?

Its slick, simple and seamless design will enable you to provide a much more cohesive and brand-centric checkout process for your prospective guests. Importantly, it’s optimised for mobile, meaning your guests won’t have to battle against clunky processes to press that all-important ‘book now’ button.

How can I implement this?

Implementation of the new booking cart is dependent on the status of your SuperControl calendar integration:

New calendar: If you instated SuperControl’s most up-to-date calendar (available from 2019 onwards) then it’s good news! Our new booking cart will be automatically applied to website. To understand if you have the most recent SuperControl calendar integration, please click here.

Historic calendar: If you haven’t yet integrated with SuperControl’s most up-to-date calendar API, you need to complete the following steps for the booking cart to be automatically applied to your website:

  • Follow this help centre guide to install our latest calendar integration. This will involve simple input from your website developer, as they need to insert a short code into your site.
  • Direct your website developer to this guide if they require further information.

That’s it! The new booking cart will be automatically installed within two weeks from your new calendar going live.
