How to automatically hold a security against a guest's card

Please note:

You can set up the automatic holding and releasing of a security deposit against a card when using HolidayRentPayment as your payment processor.

Log into SuperControl and go to Properties > Edit > Go > section Booking details.
Change the lat option to Use Security Deposit


The options visible are going to change (drastically).
Next select Pre-Auth default credit card.

Further options become available.
Select the amount that should be held, the number of days prior to arrival the amount will be ring-fenced on the guest's card and the number of days after (post) departure when the amount should be released again.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.

Please note:

A valid card must have been used by the guest for the details to be forwarded to us.
Nobody at SuperControl has any access to the card details.
It will only be able to take the amount from the card that has been authorised for each individual booking.

Please note:

The amount will appear has having been deducted from the guest's card. This is somewhat misleading as the monies have only been made unavailable. The money hasn't left the card (yet).

Should you need to retain part of the money held as the security deposit, this amount will be permanently deducted from the guest's card, while the rest will become available again to the guest.
