Popular short break setups

The following are short break models that help to reduce the amount of cleaning, general work required while still giving your guests the opportunity to book short stays.

Expand or collapse content 1. 3 / 4 night breaks (week and weekend breaks)

For breaks during the week guests arrive on Monday and leave on the Friday (4 nights)

For the weekend breaks the guest arrive in the Friday and leave on the Monday (3 nights)

There are two different ways to set them up depending on if you use the Short break departure grid or not. For further information about the functionality of the short break departure grid please see this article.

Expand or collapse content 1.1. Using the departure grid
  1. Go to Properties > Edit > Settings > Go.
  2. Scroll down to the heading "Short breaks" and until you see the departure grid.

3a. For the short breaks starting on Monday, ending on a Friday select this box for bookings less than 7 nights.

If your guest can book vacations longer than 7 nights, but still should only be able to depart on either Mondays and Fridays also click these boxes.

3b.  For weekend breaks, which means short breaks including a Friday and/or Saturday, the guest can arrive on the Friday and need to leave on the following Monday.

For booking of 7 or more days where guest are still only allowed to depart on Monday or Friday, select these boxes.

As all other boxes should be unchecked the grid looks like this:

  1. Click Save at the bottom of the page.
  2. Click onto Update Short Breaks to update the price planner.

  1. Go to Properties > Edit > Go.
  2. Scroll down to the heading Short breaks. You will see the table where you set the length of stay.
  3. For the short breaks starting on Monday ending on Friday the minimum and maximum number of nights is 4.  Shorter or longer short breaks are not allowed with these settings.
  1. For the short breaks starting on Friday ending on Monday the minimum and maximum number of nights is 3.  Shorter or longer short breaks are not allowed with these settings.

If you want to allow longer stays, simply using 3/4 nights as the minimum, amend the maximum number of days as required. e.g. 7+.

Please note:
With the above settings you would allow:
arriving on Monday 4, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21... night stays
arriving on Friday 3, 7, 10, 14, 17, 21.. night stays

  1. Click Save at the bottom of the page.
  2. Click onto Update Short Breaks to update the price planner.
Expand or collapse content 2. Minimum of 2 nights

As most smaller owners who rent out their properties to paying guest don't have the man power to clean the properties every day, quite a few adopt a 2-night minimum approach to short breaks.

2.1. Using the departure grid

  1. Go to Properties > Edit > Go.
  2. Scroll down to the heading Short breaks and until you see the departure grid.
  3. Untick the days not allowed as departure days / Tick the days allowed as departure days.
  1. Click Save at the bottom of the page.
  2. Click onto Update short breaks for this property to update the price planner.

2.2. Using the default grid

  1. Go to Properties > Edit > Go.
  2. Scroll down to the heading Short breaks and until you see the grid where you set the length of stay.
  3. For the short breaks with a minimum of two nights and a maximum of 7, use the settings on the right hand side. If guests can back two days and up to the defined maximum of nights use the one on the left.

 

  1. Click Save at the bottom of the page.
  2. Click onto Update Short Breaks to update the price planner.
