Setting-up your Short Break settings is a 2-stage process.
First you must set-up your default settings on the Settings page of each property (Stage 1).
Secondly you need to add the individual Short Break bands to the Price Planner of the property (Stage 2).
Please note:
You need to have the Include advanced settings option at the top right of the page toggled on to see the additional options showing under A), C), D), E) and F) in Stage 1.
1. To allow short breaks go to Properties > Edit > Go.
2. Scroll down to the section Short breaks
With this option ticked a booking for more than a week will be calculating all full weeks according to the price for the initial week.
This is important to keep in mind when a booking is starting in one price band, but ends another. With the second price band having a higher weekly rate than the first week.
Example:
price band A -- weekly price £1000
price band B -- weekly price £1500
The arrival date is in price band A, the calculated price for the first week is £1000.
The departure date is in price band B, the whole booking is for four weeks.
The calculated price will be:
week 1 = £1000 - price band A
week 2 = £1000 - price band B
week 3 = £1000 - price band B
week 4 = £1000 - price band B
total = £ 4000
The weekly price from price band B will be ignored, as the weekly price from price band A has been chosen to be used for all full weeks in the booking.
There are two short break models to choose from: Fixed price for number of nights or Daily prices.
Fixed price for number of nights
Allows you to enter a price based on number of nights e.g. 1 night mid-week, 2 nights mid-week, 3 nights mid-week etc.
Daily prices
Allows you to add a price based on the day of the week e.g. Monday price, Tuesday price, Wednesday price etc.
Please note:
Any stay including a Friday or a Saturday night would be classed as a weekend rate,
Example:
A booking for Thursday, Friday and Saturday night would be priced as 3 nights weekend.
If a customer books a week that crosses two separate price bands, by default SuperControl will calculate the price on a daily basis.
If you tick this box SuperControl will use the weekly price of the arrival date for full weeks in the booking.
Example:
booking dates: 11.09. - 28.09. > 23 nights
weekly rate for the first week: £700
weekly rate for the second week: £900
both full weeks will be calculated with £700
This option allows 7+ bookings to have the 8th and following days calculated as a pro rata of the weekly price, rather than using the price set up in the price planner.
Example:
7 nights 1000
8 nights 1000 + (1000/7) = 1142.86
Please note:
This option is only available when the settings Pro rata after first week has been selected.
This option allows 7+ bookings to have the 8th and following nights calculated as a pro rata of the weekly price, rather than using the price set up in the price planner.
When calculating prices across price bands the price of the second week is used to calculate the price for the second week.
Example:
1st week: £700
2nd week: £1400
4 nights in week 1
3 nights in week 2
4 nights (£700 / 7) * 4 = £400
3 nights (£1400/7) *3 = £600
7 nights £400 + £600 = £1000
With this option ticked further options will display.
On the left hand side you can to set up a percentage of the weekly price that can be used to automatically calculating the short break price.
In the price planner you now only need to click on the red links to the right of the field with the price. The system will calculate the correct amount automatically.
When this option is clicked the price planner for this property will be updated automatically.
Please note:
You need to save the change first, before using this button.
4. Days prior to arrival to always allow short break: This rule will apply even for periods when you do not normally offer short breaks, e.g. if you enter "14" and you have availability available in the next 14 days from today's date, then it will automatically enable short breaks for the next 14 days. The days will rollover as the dates pass by.
5. Click Save once you have chosen your settings.
When this option is clicked the price planner for this property will be updated automatically for all enabled properties.
Please note:
If you have any properties disabled, but want to have these changes apply to them as well, you need to enable the properties first, before making and saving the changes.
SuperControl will calculate an average price across the price bands.
The weekly price for each price band will be used to calculate a pro rata for the respective number of days in each price band.
Example:
3 days in price band A - weekly price £700
4 days in price band B - weekly price £1400
Calculation:
£700 / 7 = £100 -> 3 * £100 = £300
£1400 / 7 = £200 -> 4 * £200 = £800
£300 + £800 = £1100
The guest would be quoted £1100 for the 7 night stay.
3. To set up the minimum and maximum number of nights for each day of the week, select the required options in the table.

7 means you allow weekly bookings (7 nights)
7+ means you allow more than 7 nights, e.g. 8, 10 etc.
A setup for allowing 4 nights from Monday and 3 nights from Friday would be looking like in the screenshot below.
Please note:

Your start days and length of stay will populate based on the property settings in Properties > Edit > Go > section Short breaks.
Tip:
Tick the box Short breaks cannot extend beyond this date to make sure that your guests can't book date, which should not be available for short stays.
For example:
You wouldn't want a short break booking that spills over into a date range for which a higher price and/or weekly bookings only should be possible, e.g. the booking falls partly into high season.
To simply apply a setting to all days in a column, select the number of nights for Monday and then click the red Min days / Max days.
4. Click Save.
