What happens on Vrbo when changing a booking in SuperControl

Updated on

Situation:
A booking is amended by going into the booking and choosing Edit.

When all changes are made and the boxes to update upon change are ticked. The financial data in the booking will be updated.

What will happen

The amount for the total rent will be re-calculated using the price set in the planner price.

This means:
The previously added uplift will be stripped out.
The price in the price planner will replace the amount forwarded from Vrbo.

The newly calculated price will be forwarded to Vrbo.
The guest will see a potentially significantly cheaper rental price. The guest will expect this to be the amount to be the one he has to pay.

Result:
You are potentially several hundreds of pounds out off pocket.

Advice:
The boxes to re-calculate should only be used, when the total amount payable by the guest is going to be higher than it currently is.

Examples:
- the number of adults are being increased
> this will not increase the amount payable by the guest
-> the boxes should NOT be ticked
Otherwise the total rent will be re-calculated using the price set in the planner price.

- the guest is bringing a dog, a dog fee is being added via a booking extra
> the amount the guest will have to pay is increased
-> the boxes should be ticked
When financial information is being amended, the price is re-calculated using the current total rent of the booking.
