How to forward compliance information to Vrbo

Updated on

Under the Property settings in the Property details section you can add License numbers and EPC ratings:

You can then enable the option to automatically forward property compliance information to Vrbo. Follow the steps below:

Send Compliance data for ALL new and existing properties in bulk

1. Go to Channel Manager> International> Vrbo. Scroll down to the "Vrbo Options" section, select "Yes" in the compliance drop down menu and Save at the bottom of the page.

This will set the default for any new properties onboarded to Vrbo in the future.

3. To send compliance data for existing properties on Vrbo, click "Apply to all" in the top right hand corner:

4. Tick "Send Compliance data" and "Apply". You will see a message to let you know your existing properties are updated.

Send Compliance data for individual properties only

1. Go to Channel Manager> International> Vrbo> Click on the property reference number of the property you wish to select. Then click on the Compliance tab.

2. On the Compliance pop-up toggle on the "Send Compliance" switch.

Any required information will be marked with an Asterisk for you to complete, if not already completed. SuperControl pulls information from the data you already have in SuperControl, but if you do need to add information you can do so by clicking on the "Edit" button, which will take you straight to the place you need to go to enter missing information.

Updating required/missing compliance data

If you have enabled the sending of Compliance data to Vrbo and you have required missing information then validation will show under each listing on the main Integration page:

Click "fix" to be directed to the Compliance tab for the selected property, where you can see what's missing and complete missing information. Once the missing information is added, you can simply "Re-validate" your listing for an instant update.

Under the "Compliance" tab of each property in the Vrbo Property settings any required information will be marked with an Asterisk for you to complete if not already completed. SuperControl pulls information to this pop-up from the data you already have in SuperControl, but if you do need to add information you can do so by clicking on the "Edit" button, which will take you straight to the main Property settings page to enter missing information.

Remember to Save the page at the bottom of the property settings page if you add any new information.

Why does it say there is no information required?

In some cases, whilst licensing is still being rolled out as a new law, you may see that the Compliance tab doesn't have any requirements at the moment. This just means that the VRBO API doesn't require any information yet for your property location.

SuperControl get regular updates from the API and we have ensured that we receive direct notifications as soon as there is new required information added to the API. Once we add the new data field in SuperControl you will be notified in your account alerts if there is missing information and you will be able to see this validation on the main integration page under each property.

What if I already entered my compliance data directly into Vrbo?

Vrbo do have the facility to hold compliance information directly in their portal but if you switch to send Compliance from SuperControl, then SuperControl becomes the main source of truth and the existing compliance data in Vrbo will be removed and replaced with what's in SuperControl.

We recommend sending compliance from SuperControl instead of directly within the portal as it allows for easier onboarding in the future if the information is already there and wont be required for you to complete in Vrbo every time.
